When I was in my early 20’s, I learned of the benefits of clove tea. Over the years I’ve seen a number of versions of this – and have blatantly stolen what was good – to add to my own recipe.
I (and many of my friends who’ve tried it) have seen immediate results from sore throats, lingering colds and flu onset. The BEST quick solution to the onset of the cold or flu is still liposomal Vitamin C – 1000mg twice a day. (All other Vitamin C is crap unless you have an IV treatment of it.
PolitiJim’s Tumeric Pepper Ginger Honey Lemon Tea
Makes one 16 ounce jar of syrup
4 Tablespoons fresh turmeric, peeled and grated or very finely minced
4 Tablespoons fresh ginger, peeled and grated or very finely minced
1 teaspoon black pepper, ground
1 teaspoon ORGANIC CEYLON CINAMMON
1 cup raw MANUKA honey (or RAW UNFILTERED local honey as 2nd alternative)
hot water
1 grated whole frozen ORGANIC LEMON
(Option: Also add 4 tablespoons Raw Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar)
(Option 2: Also add 1/8 cup concentrated unfiltered organic pomegranate juice)
Combine the grated turmeric and ginger with the honey. Add the black
pepper, cinammon and ACV and stir until uniform. Alternatively, the paste can be made in the blender, just make sure you clean the blender right away to avoid
stains!
Store the paste in a mason jar in the fridge. As needed, mix 1-2 Tablespoons with 1 cup of hot water and a squeeze of lemon.
